Wheels
These are common sizes for the various Daihatsu's. You should definitely check with a dealer before you make any purchase decision to verify the accuracy of this information. Some models have differing diameter wheels depending on the engine, power and suspension setups.
Rim" = Nominal rim diameter in inches
(Rim = The part of the wheel comprising the well, bead seats, and flange where the tyre mounts into. The nominal wheel size width is the distance between the inboard and outboard outer edges of the bead seats, not the flange lip)
Hub = The part of the wheel that bolts onto the knuckle or axle hub assembly flange of your suspension. The wheel hub mating surface is known as the mounting pad.The centre bore of the wheel hub slips over the axle hub. A locating hub ring (sleeve) is used to centre the wheel on the axle. Hub rings are also known as centre bore locating rings.
P.C.D = Pitch circle diameter. Diameter of an imaginary circle through centres of stud holes in mm
Offset = distance from centreline of wheel and mating face on the wheel hub. Negative when wheel plate is biased towards the wheel hub from the wheel centreline (wider track) , and positive when its biased away (narrower track) in mm. Sometimes called outset and inset. If you subtract half the width of the rim from the backspace you will get the offset. e.g 7" wheel with 105mm backspace; offset = 105mm - 88.9mm (3.5") = 16.1P offset. On the front wheel drive car the desirable offset is where the centreline of the tyre intersects with the kingpin inclination KPI (steering axle inclination SAI) line at road level; if they don't intersect at the tyre contact patch, there will be uneven moments and you will get torque steer and tendancy for non neutral steering; this offset is called scrub.
Backspace = also known as "rear spacing" the distance between the rim's inboard outer bead seat and the high point on the wheel hub mounting pad.
C.Bore = Centre bore. The clearance hole in the centre of the wheel to allow the axle hub to protrude in mm.
If you see the suffix ET its just German for "offset" :Einpress Tieffe. In Australia you may see a two digit number with an N or P suffix, which just means positive or negative centreline offset.
