Testing for a limited slip differential:

Raise the drive wheels off the ground.

Put the transmission into neutral and hand rotate one of the wheels. If the other wheel rotates in the same direction, it's an LSD. If it rotates in the opposite direction or not at all it is a conventional slip type.

Put the transmisson in 1st or park and try turning the wheel again. It should be very hard to move, if at all. If it is a conventional slip diff the wheel will turn easily and the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction.
