Here are some pictorials of some pistons.

The flat top is an HD and the domed is the HC. The HE is tha same as the HD. The HD and HC conrods are the same.

Here is a comparo of the HD, HC and CB70/80 piston assemblies.

Now something you might find interesting. The CB70/80 pistons appear to be forged unlike the other two which are cast. However as far as hardness goes the the Cb70/80 and the HD piston was measured at Rockwell B (HRB) 63 or Brinnel 94, while the HC piston measured HRB 17, Brinnel 64.
